Yankees starting pitcher Ivan Nova hasn't made a final decision yet but it's likely the right-hander will undergo season ending Tommy John surgery.

An MRI confirmed Nova has a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing elbow, which all but ensures the operation.

Recovery for the procedure varies between 12 and 18 months so it is possible Nova wouldn't be able to return to the mound for a live game until mid to late summer of 2015.

Vidal Nuno will take Nova's spot in the starting lineup, according to Yankees.com. The 26-year-old lefty has made just four career starts with 3.68 ERA.
