According to the calendar spring officially begins on March 21st. However, we have seen some really big amounts of snow in March.

Living in Central New York all my life I normally don't stop thinking about snow until about the first or second week of April. Any of you who have lived here for a while know that we can get some big storms in March.  I can remember back in the early 1970s, we had about a foot or more of heavy wet snow in the middle of May. This is the time of year when the seasons are changing. We get lots of moisture coming up from the south and systems coming from the west that sometimes merge setting up the perfect ingredients for a powerful nor'easter. So even though we are seeing signs of spring you can never count out old man winter to throw one more punch.
