It seems every day we hear new diets, new diet pills, new workout techniques, and of course how to stay thin. It never seems to be any advances in the technology that we use to eat. It's always been a fork or spoon right? Well that changes today. Introducing the worlds first smart fork, the HAPIfork!

This “Smart Fork” uses built-in sensors to monitor how much food you're putting on the fork. Every time you bring food from your plate to your mouth this is known as a "fork serving". So HAPIfork knows how many forkfuls of food you're eating per minute, and how long you're pausing between shoveling bites of food into your mouth.

The HAPIfork also measures:

• How long it took to eat your meal.

• The amount of “fork servings" taken per minute.

• Intervals between "fork servings".

So if you end up putting too much on the fork or eating more than once every 10 seconds, it buzzes at you as a sign that you need to calm down a bit. Data is downloaded so you can monitor your eating patterns, or show your doctor. Either way it tracks every bite for you. The HAPIfork stresses the fact it's important to eat slowly:
