An inmate at the Elmira Correctional Facility in New York's Southern Tier is facing an additional three to seven years behind bars after he was discovered to be hiding razor blades in his rectum.

The Leader newspaper in nearby Corning, reports that Anthony Bryson was serving time for a burglary charge out of Binghamton.  He set off alarms when going through a prison metal detector then

Guards X-rayed Bryson’s body and found he was carrying two X-Acto blades in his rectum. Authorities did not say how Bryson obtained the blades.

After a two-day trial, Bryson, was convicted Wednesday in Chemung County Court of first-degree promoting prison contraband, a class D felony. He faces an additional prison term of 3.5 to seven years when he is sentenced next month.
