The Indianapolis Colts hired former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel to be a game-day replay consultant, but Tressel will only join the team in week 7, after the team decided to suspend him.

The team’s decision comes after questions arose over the fairness of employing Tressel at a time when former player Terrelle Pryor is forced to sit out five NFL games for accepting gifts while in college.

Tressel lied to school officials and NCAA investigators about his knowledge of his players’ violations, and he subsequently resigned. But Indianapolis is hoping to give Tressel a fresh start, beginning with booth review duties.
