Herkimer Will Begin Similar Saranac Thursday Events On Saturdays Through The Summer On West Albany Street
When people of Utica think summer they think Saranac Thursdays, trips to Old Forge, and laying on Sylvan Beach. Not often do we think of “let’s go to Herkimer”. Well, that’s about to change. On Monday (5/6), the Herkimer board of trustees approved a request from Belly Up Pub owner Amy Mosher to set up an outdoor bar and stage on West Albany Street on Saturday nights throughout the summer. Here’s what we know so far:
According to the Utica OD, these Saturday night events would be similar to Saranac Thursday, as a different band would be featured each Saturday night, and that the bands would perform from 8 p.m. to midnight.
“It’s an idea to bring people to Herkimer,” said Mosher. “It would be a fun night out.”
“It would draw the community together,” said Mayor Mark Ainsworth. “It’s an opportunity to promote Herkimer and what the village has to offer.”
It looks like the event at this moment is unnamed. It would likely begin in June and continue through September. You can read more from the OD by Clicking Here.
