Well, J.D. George Elementary didn't make the final cut to join Foreigner onstage at the end of this month, but another great choir did! Music teacher (and musician) extraordinaire, Scott Rutledge has mobilized his Holy Cross Academy choir and is as of this writing, slightly in the lead (51% of the vote!) Unlike all of the submission videos I've seen so far, Scott simply had the choir sing their parts with no other distracting instruments so the members of Foreigner could hear EXACTLY what they're getting, no more, no less. Not to mention their delivery is energetic and believable! Vote for Scott and his choir in order to help them keep the lead! Contact him HERE, or HERE for voting details... Now how about their audition video...

When Scott left Rome Catholic to teach at the Rome YMCA and then to Holy Cross after that, I was the unlucky guy who got the job of taking over his choir where he left off. I've always admired him and have never met another music teacher like him, as he's able to work absolute wonders with whatever group of kids he has in front of him. If there were a Hall of Fame for music teachers, he'd not only be in it but also the standard by which are teachers are measured. He and I have played a few wedding gigs on occasion and he is a class act all around and the consummate professional. Oh yeah, and he plays trumpet and sings in a little known band (year, right) called Classified. Nuff said.

And for comparison, here's Whitesboro's offering at (43% of the vote)...

And the so-far bronze medalists, Chittenango...

UPDATE - 6/3/14 7:08am One day later, Whitesboro and Chittenango have BOTH dethroned Holy Cross in a matter of hours, so(if you liked what you saw anyway) vote away on every device that you have!
