Everyday you read new surveys telling you that you should eat more healthy meals. You’re probably already eating a lot of healthy everyday foods like bananas, and broccoli, but what about the foods filled with disease-fighting phytochemicals you aren’t eating? Our friends at the Huffington Post put together a large list of foods, here’s a few off of that list.

  • Kale

It's a good source of heart-healthy fiber and a one-cup serving has almost as much vitamin C as an orange. What's not to love? Heres and easy recipe.

  • Sardines

Sardines are one of the best sources of heart-healthy, mood-boosting omega-3 fats, and they're packed with vitamin D. My Dad ate these almost every night growing up. Here’s a recipe for Sardine pasta.

  • Quinoa

Quinoa is a delicately flavored whole grain packed with fiber and protein and, to top it off, it only takes 15 to 20 minutes to cook. Here’s an easy soup recipe.

  • Pomegranate

This fruit is full of antioxidants, natural chemicals found in plants that clean up harmful free radicals, which damage tissues and may contribute to a variety of chronic conditions, such as heart disease, Alzheimer's and cancer. It tastes best as juice.
