As you can imagine the week after Valentine's Day is one of the biggest times of the year for divorces. People don't want to do it on Valentine's day, but they will wait until after wards. So think about it, lawyers probably make a fortune this time of the year. Meet Attorney Walter Bentley. He wants you to think of him for all your divorce needs. He's giving away a free divorce for Valentine's Day.

Walter Bentley is located in Southfield, Michigan. He's running a contest offering a free post-Valentine's divorce to the person with the best breakup story. Here's the official contest rules:

The Law Offices of Walter H. Bentley III, PLLC is giving away one free divorce for Valentine's Day. The winner will be chosen based on the most compelling and convincing story as to why they should be the winner. The divorce is limited to an uncontested divorce with no or minimum child custody issues. Limited to Michigan residents only. Deadline for submissions is 11:59 p.m. E.S.T., February 12, 2013.”

Because he's so very ethical, he says it has to be a situation where there are no child custody issues. Only Michigan residents are eligible. Why in the world would he even run this contest?

“The idea came about when people come into my office on a regular basis who want to get a divorce and they’re struggling right now financially and they just don’t have the funds or means to do that. And so that’s why I decided to do it,” Bentley told WWJ Newsradio 950′s Zahra Huber.

“What makes Valentine’s Day even hard for some people that are in that situation that are in a bad marriage and you’re living with the person, and it makes Valentine’s Day a very, very tough day for people — when you’re living with someone you no longer want to be married to,” Bentley said.
