Geraldine Ferraro Passes Away At 75
The first woman to run for Vice President, Geraldine Ferraro, passed away on Saturday at the age of 75. She had been battling cancer for more than a decade.
Ferraro was Walter Mondale's running mate against Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush in 1984. Many remember this election because it was on of the biggest defeats ever in a presidential race.
During her campaign, she was known for saying, "Modern life is confusing. Make no Ms.-take about it." She was also the first Italian-American to run on a major party ticket.
Ferraro was surrounded by her loved ones at Massachusetts General in Boston. She will be truly missed.
