Tonight's Sabres/Oilers game will not be shown on Time Warner Cable due to the big dispute with MSG. It may be a good thing because our Buffalo Sabres are dealing with injuries, and it doesn’t help they are on a losing streak. Facing the Oilers tonight may help ease some of the pain of injuries and TV black outs.

The Sabres are currently 17-17-4. They’ve lost three consecutive games, and lost a total of six of their last seven games. They lost to Ottawa in a shootout on Saturday, scoring fewer than three goals for the fifth time in six games. It didn’t help that Buffalo played without five players including defenseman Christian Ehrhoff. Ehroff suffered an upper-body injury in Friday's 3-1 loss at Washington. Also missing from tonight’s game is Brad Boyes and Jason Pominville. Both players left Monday's practice early. It’s no doubt to fans that the Sabres are struggling without their regular lineup at full strength.

The Oilers also are playing a few key team members short as well. The team might have beat out Chicago on Monday, but that victory also lost them two key players; Defenseman Tom Gilbert, and rookie sensation Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Both players took hard hits, and suffered minor injuries.
