Restaurant Closes After 6 years In Business At Destiny USA

The Melting Pot, the restaurant chain that specializes in fondue, closed at Syracuse's Destiny USA mall on Monday.

In an email and a Facebook post, the chain said losses at the six-year-old restaurant were just too great to continue. It held out the option of someday returning.

The company's message: "Valued fans we regret to announce that the Melting Pot of Syracuse has closed for business indefinitely as of Monday, July 16 due to ongoing financial losses that are no longer sustainable.

We appreciate the opportunity for over six years this location thank you for your patronage."While there are no plans to re-open this location. The Melting Pot Restaurants Inc., has a strong interest to return to the Syracuse area in the future.
