Ubisoft's players are up in arms over the realization that Far Cry 4's Map Maker doesn't support multiplayer levels. Despite a 126-page thread on Ubisoft's website complete with torches and pitchforks, this particular perk may never show up in the map maker.

After watching a Twitch stream that only showed editing options for challenge modes, the general public was left questioning where the competitive multiplayer levels were. Eurogamer reports that Ubisoft Creative Director Alex Hutchinson has confirmed the lack of multiplayer levels on Far Cry 4's Map Maker. Not only does the Map Maker not support these levels now, but Hutchinson has confirmed, via Twitter, that these levels may never be supported.

Hutchinson goes on to say, "We're going to keep supporting the game so hopefully we can get it done post release. No promises but we will try." It's a pretty big let down for fans of the game, especially since Hutchinson's earlier tweets were just as dismissive. "I direct the game but I don't set budgets or timelines," Hutchinson explained. "We always squeeze in as much as we can, but we're always prioritising." It almost seems like he's just trying to pass the blame on to someone else.

Currently, the map maker will let you create four different kinds of custom levels--Assault, Hunt, Outpost, and Extraction -- and then continue on to let you upload your own and download others. Not everyone seems to think this is enough, though. We will just have to wait and see if Ubisoft ever finds the time to produce the competitive multiplayer levels that its fans are begging for.
