Watch as Ubisoft Montreal travels to Nepal in Himalayas to get a firsthand look at the jungles, mountains and lifestyles that are going to be at the forefront of the player's experiences in Kyrat throughout Far Cry 4.

This new developer diary for Far Cry 4 continues Ubisoft Montreal's journey throughout Nepal to research the geographical and sociological aspects of the country which will be translated over to the fictional country of Kyrat. Since Kyrat is meant to take place in the Himalayan Mountains, Nepal was one of the safest locations Ubisoft could go to for these observations. As you can tell by the developer diary, it still was pretty dangerous. Look at those narrow and twisting mountain roads which Ubisoft's small trucks could have easily fallen from at any turn. We also get to see some of the region's cultural and combat influences on the game as well.

Far Cry 4 will launch on Nov. 18 for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. We have also included the first developer diary for Far Cry 4, which introduces why Ubisoft Montreal have decided to go to Nepal in the first place.

Lastly, here is Ubisoft's announcement video for its Quest for Everest contest, where its grand prize winner will be sent to the actual Himalayas. You will be provided mountain climbing gear and your own team of climbers, leading to the point where you become the first person to ever play a video game on Mount Everest.
