You may not know Judson Laipply’s name, but you’ve almost surely seen him in action. The comedian’s ‘Evolution of Dance‘ video went viral in 2006 and has since been viewed 177 million times.

So several weeks ago when ESPN began mulling ways to laud the inevitable end of the NFL lockout, he was a natural choice. “The idea started by thinking about how we should celebrate a return to football,” said Kevin Kirksey, ESPN’s senior director of marketing. “Judson was a perfect partner to work with.”

Along with an ad agency, ESPN chose 23 famous touchdown dances by players such as Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco, set them to music, and commissioned Laippley to act them out. And after NFL owners and players reached a new deal yesterday, ESPN released the resulting video on its Facebook page and on YouTube.
