The Central New York Bluegrass Association will host the 3rd Annual Jamfest, from noon August 16 until noon August 18, 2013 at the Lafayette Apple Festival Grounds, Rt. 20, Lafayette. Tickets will cost $5.00 on Friday and $10.00 on Saturday.

Jamfest was born to promote and encourage Bluegrass, Olde Tyme Country, and Gospel music in CNY. Established players and new learners are invited to come out and jam, listen to bands, visit with old and new friends, and enjoy a family friendly Summer weekend.

Jamfest 2013 promises to be a superb weekend. Held at the Lafayette Apple Festival Grounds on Rt 20, we invite people out for Friday Aug.16th, Saturday Aug 17, or the entire weekend. Camping is free, electric available for a nominal fee. Event a lot of fun rain or shine, with apple barns easily accessed. Gates close at noon on Sunday August 18.

Come out Friday and jam from noon until the last jam is done. Bring your friends and enjoy Open Mic 12-5, join the Music of Nature hike at 5:30, and join in the Square Dance with Bob Nicholson calling.from 7-9 pm, Don't miss the musical items sale, including vintage records, cassettes, magazines, and treasures.

Saturday features 8 special CNY bands, The Rusty Doves of Utica, Pigeon Post String Band, Lake Effect Bluegrass, Zeke Leonard and the Syraukes, Easy Ramblers, Midnight Legion, Casual Plaid (5 talented Marcellus HS students), and Diamond Someday Bluegrass, playing noon-8 pm. Jams will be held throughout the day, each in a special location-Bluegrass Only Jam (all day), Old Time Country & Gospel (all Day), Future Grass Youth Jam led by Sean King & Casual Plaid (2-4), Slow Jam led by artist Shirley Stevens of Diamond Someday, activities and entertainment for kids 12-5pm with Anna, and Nature of Music Hike at 5:30, .and not to be missed-The Moonlight Jam (9pm-?).

Sunday is the Gospel Jam 9-11, and gates close at noon.

Tickets: $5.00 Friday, $10.00 Saturday, Gospel Jam free, all kids 16 and under free with a paying adult.
Refreshments available Friday & Saturday. CNYBA is co-marketing with Baltimore Woods Nature Center of Marcellus, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the youth program at Baltimore Woods.
