Hockey Fights T1D Benefit Hockey Game for the JDRF of CNY

Local amateur hockey players will gather at the New Hartford Rec Center arena at 7:30pm on Friday, September 19th in the inaugural “Hockey Fights T1D” (Type 1 Diabetes) a fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF of CNY). Players are welcome to sign up to participate in this tournament for a $20 fee, with all net proceeds being donated directly to the JDRF of CNY.
Local hockey enthusiast, and parent of a 4 year old type one diabetic son, Matthew Roach has put together this hockey game to raise awareness. Roach heads a team “Logan’s Heroes” for the local JDRF walk happening on Saturday, September 2oth at the Masonic Care Community.
“My son Logan and I are big hockey fans, so this game seemed like a natural fit for raising funds for the JDRF and shining light on Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes.”
Players are welcome to sign up to participate in this tournament for a $20 fee, with all net proceeds being donated directly to the JDRF of CNY. Spectators are also welcome to the game! Admission will be free to the event with a donation bucket available at the door. A Chinese Auction featuring donations from local businesses and a raffle for a 40” LED TV are also planned to round out the festivities.
