Drinking At Sporting Events
There’s something about watching a live sporting event that gets the blood flowing. You may want to drink a few beers with friends at the stadium despite the ridiculous prices. I spent 5 dollars on a Hot Dog at a Yankee game, knowing I was paying an outrageous price. How many fans do drop down the cash to drink?
According to a new study from BusinessWeek.com, blood alcohol levels were taken of 382 adults following 13 baseball games and three football games, 8 percent of fans were found to be above the legal intoxication limit. Only 8 percent? Shocking right? Well alcohol experts aren’t dumb; they believe the number of drunk fans is probably higher than 8 percent.
Other findings from the survey include:
- Fans who tailgated before the game were 14 times more likely to leave the game drunk.
- Fans under the age of 35 were nine times more likely to be drunk.
Do you drop the coin to drink at a game? What’s the highest price you have paid to drink at a game?
