Davey’s Dirty Laundry- Singer Scott McKenzie Dead At 73

It seems to be a bad year for musicians and death, and it looks like we have another one to report on sadly.

Singer Scott McKenzie, best known for the 1967 “Summer of Love” anthem, “San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Flowers In Your Hair),” died in Los Angeles on Saturday (August 18th) at age 73. Since 2010, McKenzie had suffered from the extremely rare Guillain – Barre syndrome a non-trauma-related paralysis.

 

JAY LENO TAKES PAY CUT IN WAKE OF ‘TONIGHT SHOW’ LAYOFFS

There’s drama at the Tonight show again, only this time Jay Leno is being praised for his role in the situation. A little more than two years after he took back the reins from Conan O’Brien, NBC laid off approximately two dozen staffers on the Tonight Show. Deadline.com reported that the cuts were imposed by NBC in order to cut costs associated with the network. Deadline noted that Leno took a “significant” pay cut himself in order to save a number of positions.

 

CBS DROPS LAWSUIT AGAINST ABC

CBS has dropped it lawsuit against ABC over their reality show Glass House in the wake of the program’s low ratings. CBS sued earlier this year, claiming that Glass House was a rip-off of their show, Big Brother. After Glass House came in 87th among broadcast TV shows by number of viewers last week, CBS decided the suit wasn’t worth their effort anymore.
