five members of Congress to join IBM at a demonstration of Watson’s computing power and, with a final count of $8,600 over Watson’s $6,200, emerged victorious. Holt – a five-time champion during the trivia show’s original run 35 years ago – is also a nuclear physicist. Several other members of Congress were brave enough to take on Watson. Representative Jim Himes of Connecticut, who fell victim to Watson’s super intellect, was gracious in his defeat. Before leaving the stage, Himes kissed the computer’s virtual LCD face.
