Central New York Remembers Veterans Day With Ceremonies
Veteran’s Day is approaching, and the local American Legions are doing their part to honor our local heroes.

Herkimer County Community College will air special programming the night of Monday, November 12th, starting at 7 p.m.
The night begins with two College-produced shows, “Home Town Heroes” and Our Vets, Their Stories,” with the 1951 documentary “Crusade in the Pacific” showen right after. The night’s programming ends with two comedies, “At War with the Army” starring Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin, and the Laurel and Hardy classic, “The Flying Deuces.”

American Legion Post #1376 is hosting several ceremonies throughout the Veterans Day weekend.
The Post will hold ceremonies on Friday, November 9th at:
9 a.m. – John F. Hughes Elementary School (24 Prospect St. in Utica)
11:15 a.m. – St. John’s Church (240 Bleecker St. in Utica)
1:15 p.m. – Myles Elementary School (100 Clinton Rd. in New Hartford)
2:15 p.m. – Presbytarian Home (4290 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford)
The American Legion is also participating in two ceremonies on Sunday, November 11th:
11:00 a.m. – American Legion Post #1376 (8616 Clinton St., New Hartford)
2:00 p.m. – New Hartford Veterans Park (Across from Utica Mutual Insurance)
A wreath laying and Color Guard presentation will be held at 9 a.m. at the American Legion in Rome. A larger ceremony will take place at 10:15 in Veteran’s Park, located in the 200 block of North James Street.
The 5th Annual Veterans Parade and Expo will take place on November 10th at the State Fairgrounds. The expo begins at 11 a.m. in the Center of Progress Building and features displays and a performance by the West Point Drill Team. Expo ends at 4 p.m.
A parade will be held at the Fairgrounds on the same day, starting at noon.
