Maybe you've tried tongue twisters as a kid to varying degrees of success, but THIS guy is a tongue twister's twister! I talk for a living and while my delivery is considered fast, I've always marveled at how fast auctioneers can spit out (whatever it is that they say) and somehow people understand it! This guy is so on top of his game that someone overdubbed a beat while he talks!

But why exactly do auctioneers talk like they do? Here's the nutshell...

They talk like that to hypnotize the bidders. Auctioneers don't just talk fast—they chant in a rhythmic monotone so as to lull onlookers into a conditioned pattern of call and response, as if they were playing a game of "Simon says." The speed is also intended to give the buyers a sense of urgency: Bid now or lose out. And it doesn't hurt the bottom line, either. Auctioneers typically take home from 10 to 20 percent of the sale price. Selling more items in less time means they make more money.

Ah, so it's all a form of deception!!! Don't forget that if you bid and win, you can't go back on it or risk the long arm of the law!
