The upcoming Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will offer a Season Pass to those braving the dangers of Pandora's moon, according to a blog post on the official Borderlands website.

The post goes into full detail about the new Season Pass, which includes four add-on packs for the game. The packs will include new playable characters, new challenges, new missions and new "experiences" for $29.99, while each individual pack can be purchased for $9.99. The Season Pass can be purchased day and date with Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel in October, while individual packs must be purchased as they release.

Season Passes are becoming the norm these days, offering additional content to a game on the day of release for extra money. While we understand the "business" aspect of them, part of us wishes that everything would just be included at once on the disc and DLC would be unnecessary. We would wait a bit longer for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel if it meant that every intended mission and challenge and character were on the disc waiting to be unlocked, but that's just not how the industry works these days, so be prepared to pay a bit more for those extra content packs..

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will launch Oct. 14 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
