The house of Mass Effect lets us know how Dragon Age: Inquisition is trying to avoid the mistakes made with Dragon Age II.

In an interview with Destructoid, BioWare's Mark Darrah and Aaryn Flynn explained the gambles their company took with Dragon Age II and how they learned from both the negative and positive responses of these changes. Darrah is Dragon Age: Inquisition's Executive Producer and Flynn is the General Manager of BioWare Edmonton. While most studio reps would have painted their previous works in nothing but a positive light, both men explained that there are many aspects of Dragon Age II they're avoiding this time around.

"We did a lot of experimentation in Dragon Age II. The hero is a reactive hero, as opposed to a hero that causes reactions like the Warden from Origins," Darrah said. "I think that lack of clarity made the story more convoluted. It's a story of people as opposed to a story of events, and I think that was a problem for many people."

Darrah mentioned that Dragon Age II's gameplay was faster and much easier than Origins'. Flynn added that Inquisition will be harder, making you use the tactics you have learned throughout the game rather than just a "tank-and-spank" fight every single time. He also admitted that fans wanted armor customization options, so that their characters' looks will change based on their gear. Just don't expect "plate mail on every character and having four walking trash cans." There will also be an excellent crafting system, a creature inspection tool and the ability to dye your clothing.

Dragon Age: Inquisition launches on Nov. 18 for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Can't have Dragon Age without a little lovin'.
