Aaryn Flynn, General Manager of BioWare's Edmonton and Montreal Studios, recently revealed that the possibility of a next-gen remaster of the Mass Effect Trilogy has been discussed internally.

Flynn answered a tweet from a fan who asked if the team at BioWare had thought about releasing a remaster for the Trilogy on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, complete with 1080p graphics, high resolution textures and a frame rate of 60fps.

Without revealing too much, Flynn said that it's been discussed internally. Should any plans  become more concrete with regard to a next-gen remaster, he added BioWare would share the news. The fourth entry in the series is in development now, though no date has been given as to when BioWare might release the next entry proper in the franchise. There's also no telling if remastering the original trilogy would cut into the active development of Mass Effect 4.

We'll keep you updated if any further news about a remaster for the Trilogy is released.
