The latest '+1' trailer may initially make the film look like a fairly normal "teens go partying and learn life lessons" movie, but there's a lot more going on. After all, a movie about a party is just another teen flick, but a movie about a party where a freak supernatural occurrence causes a group of friends to go back in time and relive the party with their past selves is something else altogether.
The biggest appeal of the 'Expendables' franchise has always been seeing all your favorite aging action stars on the screen at same time, even when they have no reason to be in the same movie. However, nothing has come close to the pure, unfiltered weirdness of seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger on the same set as Harrison Ford. The former Terminator/Governor shared an image of them on the set of 'The Expendables 3' and it's just plain strange. While they've always existed on the same world, they feel like two people from different dimensions.
The last time director Roland Emmerich talked about 'Independence Day 2,' original franchise star Will Smith was not going to be involved. At all. He was "too expensive," a "marquee name" who would be "too much." But a few months (and some time to think about the bomb that was 'After Earth') can make all the difference in the world -- it looks like Smith may end up joining the highly anticipated sequel after all.
'Transformers 4' has been filming for a few months now, but other than the occasional set photo or video of something blowing up, things have been pretty quiet. Little questions like "What's the movie even about?" continue to go unanswered. And to be perfectly honest, those questions will continue to go unanswered for the time being ... but at least we now know that the film will somehow involve robots that can transform into dinosaurs.
'The Expendables 3' began filming in Bulgaria today, and Lionsgate marked the occasion by sending out a press release that not only confirms most of the crazy ensemble cast but teases a plot that sounds just nutty enough to earn back our attention after the mediocre second film. If you aren't on board the 'Expendables' bandwagon (and we totally wouldn't blame you if you're not), just know that Mel Gibson is playing a character named Conrad Stonebanks. Conrad Stonebanks.
When 'Star Wars: Episode 7' was initially announced, a 2015 release date was attached, leading everyone everywhere to believe that J.J. Abrams' film would arrive in May of that year. And why wouldn't they? All six previous 'Star Wars' films have opened in that month and that month has certainly been kind to the franchise. However, new buzz suggests that while the latest entry in the saga will indeed hit theaters in 2015, it'll break tradition and do so a little later in the year.
The last time we saw Indiana Jones, he was encountering aliens and disappointing millions of movie fans all over the world with 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.' Although we're just now washing the taste of that disastrous production out of our mouths, talk of an 'Indiana Jones 5' has long persisted, and now there may be enough distance for us to actually be a little interested. What does series star Harrison Ford have to say on the matter?
After a few years of cool, iconic titles like 'The Dark Knight' and 'Man of Steel,' it looks like the upcoming Batman and Superman crossover film is going to be a bit more blunt. Although an official title wasn't revealed at the Warner Bros. Hall H presentation at Comic-Con 2013, screenwriter David S. Goyer was a little more candid at a panel celebrating the 75th anniversary of Superman.
Although many fans would agree that the third season of AMC's 'The Walking Dead' ended with a bit of a whimper, the trailer for the fourth season has arrived and gotten us excited all over again. Straight out of Comic-Con 2013 (read our coverage of the show's panel right here), the trailer has everything you'd want from this show: sweaty people screaming in southern accents, zombies munching on the flesh of the living, and all kinds of harrowing and morally grey situations.
It's been nearly a decade since Vin Diesel has portrayed Riddick, but the character is set to make a grand return very soon in the appropriately titled 'Riddick.' A new trailer for the film premiered at Comic-Con 2013 and it's everything you'd want from something like this: red band (NSFW!) and close to three minutes long.
Comic-Con 2013 may be in full swing, but that doesn't mean those of us stuck at home are completely left out. Although 'Kick-Ass 2' will be showing off all kinds of new footage for the folks in Hall H this week, we get to check out a new TV spot for Jeff Wadlow's upcoming sequel. Sure, it's not the same, but it'll do for now.
The 2013 Emmy nominations have arrived and at first glance, it's more of the same. Of course 'Breaking Bad,' 'Mad Men,' 'Homeland' and 'Downton Abbey' seem to be dominating the drama category! Of course '30 Rock,' 'Louie' and 'Veep' are contenders in the comedy category! However, the big surprise with this year's nominations is that one of the most nominated shows wasn't even on TV at all.
