Dave Swanson is a writer and musician from Cleveland, Ohio. He has spent a lifetime obsessed with all things Rock & Roll.  Dave has written for a variety of publications including Shindig!, Bucketful Of Brains, The Cleveland Scene and The Cleveland Plain Dealer. He hosts his own radio show, has promoted concerts and played in several bands including, but not limited to, Rainy Day Saints, The Chamber Strings, The Cynics, New Salem Witch Hunters, Guided By Voices, Death Of Samantha, and Captain Groovy & His Bubblegum Army.   Favorite bands-Cheap Trick, The Monkees, Sparks, Motorhead, Beach Boys, Rockpile, XTC,Van Der Graaf Generator, Sweet, Bob Dylan,etc. Favortie color- paisley. Eric Burdon Signs Book Deal To Release Memoir

Former Animals and War vocalist Eric Burdon may be on the verge of his 72nd birthday, but the rock and roll legend is keeping busier than ever. In the past five months, he has released two records -- an EP with garage rockers the Greenhornes and his dynamic new album, the critically acclaimed 'Til Your River Runs' Dry'. Add to that a round of live appearances, including the high-profile South By Southwest festival, and now, he has announced a book signing deal for his autobiography. Titled 'Breathless,' the book will cover Burdon's amazing 50-year-and-counting career, and more.

Led Zeppelin ‘Houses of the Holy’ Reel-to-Reel Sells for Big Bucks on eBay

Titles released on reel-to-reel have long been a prize of sorts for collectors -- especially since even in their heyday, they never sold all that well. The format was first introduced in 1949, and had pretty much died out by the early '70s. There were, however, a few random titles still being manufactured at the time, including the fifth Led Zeppelin album, 'Houses of the Holy' -- a copy of which recently sold in an eBay auction for $239.50, with a total of 46 bids coming in.

Bob Seger Debuts New Material At Toledo Concert

There he is, on the road again. Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band are off and running on their 2013 US tour. The tour got off to a good start last night (Feb. 27)  in Toledo, Ohio. Seger and band pulled out hit after hit, with the usual suspects like 'Night Moves' and 'Turn The Page' as well as deeper catalog numbers like 'Beautiful Loser' and 'Ramblin' Gamblin' Man' gracing the two-hour show.

Iggy Pop & the Stooges Ron Asheton Tribute Concert Coming to DVD

Original Stooges guitarist Ron Asheton passed away in 2009, but his dynamic playing and presence has not been forgotten. On April 19, 2011, his former bandmates held a tribute concert to honor his legacy and music. A DVD from that night, appropriately titled 'Tribute to Ron Asheton,' is now making its way to DVD on June 4 via MVD.

Christine McVie Not Returning to Fleetwood Mac

It appears that Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood has been instructed to stop trying to get Christine McVie to return to the band. McVie was part of their highly successful reunion tour captured on 1998's 'The Dance,' but opted out when they reconvened in 2003 to work on a new album ('Say You Will') and tour, as has not been back since.

Rare 1970 Film Featuring David Bowie and Genesis Unearthed

The Atomic Sunrise festival was held in March 1970 at the legendary Roundhouse club in England and featured a number of the underground rock scene's most shining lights. The event featured David Bowie, Hawkwind, and Genesis, among others. All these acts were in their infancy, and that's what makes the event so interesting. Fortunately, the festival was captured on film and now, after over 40 years, the film has been unearthed.
