Few bands have owed a greater debt to the Rolling Stones than Aerosmith. From the bluesy, riff-based rock to the dynamic between Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, they were originally seen by some as little more than Stones rip-offs. But on last week’s episode of ‘Saturday Night Live,’ Mick Jagger turned the tables by doing an impression of Tyler.

NBC’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ is pulling out at all the stops for the finale of its 37th season. First it was announced that Mick Jagger would be both the host and musical guest. Then they said that Jagger would be backed by Foo Fighters and Arcade Fire. Now they’ve added another rock legend to the proceedings, guitarist Jeff Beck.
Robert Plant Performs Led Zeppelin Classics on New Concert Benefit DVD
In September 2009 a handful of famous British rock musicians, including Robert Plant, performed a concert at London’s O2 Arena as a benefit for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Foundation. A DVD of highlights of the show, which was called “Rockwell,” will be released on June 19 by MVD.

Neil Young Releases Video for ‘Jesus’ Chariot’ from Upcoming ‘Americana’ Album
Neil Young has just released the second song and video from his ‘Americana‘ album, which will be released June 5. As has been widely reported, the album reunites him with longtime co-conspirators Crazy Horse as they put their unique sound on classic American folk tunes. Here, Young and his pals take on ‘She’ll Be Coming Round the Mountain,’ which is renamed ‘Jesus’ Chariot’ on the album.

Rare Bruce Springsteen Poster From 1971 Sells For $650 on eBay
A poster of one of the oddities in the Bruce Springsteen‘s pre-fame career recently sold for $650 on eBay. The poster is for the “Ernie the Chickin’ Festival” at Newark State College in Union, N.J. on May 15, 1971. Music was performed by several local acts including the oddly named “Dr. Zoom and the Sonic Boom with Bruce Springsteen.”

Led Zeppelin Tour Poster Sells For $2,200 on eBay
A rare poster for Led Zeppelin‘s 1971 tour of Japan has sold for $2,200 on eBay. The poster advertises the tour’s first two dates, at Tokyo’s Budokan Hall on Sept. 23 and 24. Led Zeppelin played three other shows in Japan: Hiroshima on Sept. 27 and Osaka on Sept. 28 and 29. Ticket prices for the shows ranged from 1,500 to 2,700 Yen, which corresponds to $18.80 to $33.85 in 2012 dollars.
