Aretha Franklin Wants Halle Berry To Play The Queen Of Soul

Aretha Franklin wants Halle Berry to portray her in the Queen of Soul's new biopic. Berry has turned down the role saying she can't sing. Franklin has said Berry's lack of singing ability has nothing to do with whether or not she should play the role:

Franklin seems dedicated towards utilizing her own original vocals for the finished film. “A lot of movies come out where it's the original artist and their songs are lip-sung to,” she tells Billboard, “That is how it would turn out if it's Halle. - Ology.com

According to Franklin the film will show her life from Detroit to New York as a young, aspiring singer. No date for the film's release has been given.
