They've gone and done it... Again! Lucasfilm has inspired yet another game developer to slap the Star Wars title on their product. There's been Star Wars: Monopoly, Star Wars: Trivial Pursuit, Star Wars: Mr. Potato Head and so many more so why wouldn't there be a spin-off of this too?

Rovio has gone from a simple idea about shooting birds at pigs (Wha?) and since grown into a 25 million dollar powerhouse, so my first thought was, 'Here we go again, this is the same game reincarnated with a Star Wars 'skin' attached' but that doesn't appear to be the case.

“This is the best Angry Birds game we’ve ever done. It’s the best parts of Angry Birds with all new cutting-edge gameplay set in in a galaxy far, far away,” Peter Vesterbacka, the CMO of Rovio, promised. The self-described Star Wars fan added, “I’m really excited about this new universe. The Force is definitely strong with this one. Angry Birds Star Wars isn’t merely another Angry Birds game with Star Wars backdrops. They are not Angry Birds dressed up as Star Wars characters. They are characters in their own right”

And, John Williams' timeless score will be playing in the background in place of the dorky theme, so I'm in! Gotta pimp out my new iPhone in Star Wars style right? So funny, because I claim that I'm not a Star Wars fanatic but merely have an appreciation for it, yet this seems to be ALL I write about! Of course if it was just a mere appreciation you wouldn't catch me camping out at the Rome Cinemas 8 48 hours before the releases of the last three Star Wars flicks just to be the first in line... But that was 'a long time ago, in a city not too far away' (or so I tell myself). :P
