Alien: Isolation Roughly 15 Hours Long, Says Developer

Creative Assembly let us know how long we will have to cower from the fearsome Xenomorph in Alien: Isolation.

In an interview on The Angry Joe Show, Gary Napper, lead game designer for Creative Assembly, said that Alien: Isolation will be about 15 hours long. He also reassured players that you won’t be spending all of your time doing nothing but evading and hiding from its title monster. There are also human and android enemies who you must dispatch or avoid as well, with plenty of aspects of the space station you must explore and utilize. Given Isolation’s purposely limited repertoire of weapons, with most of them being made of household items, you must use stealth and try to avoid combat, especially if you want to save the items you do have for the alien.

“The game is actually about 15 hours long, because we have got so much to do with the narrative all the different mechanics of the alien, on top of that we have the other threats about the station. We have a big long story that folds out,” Napper said. “It’s a bit like a Metroidvania game where you have a linear story you go through but you can also go back and explore the areas you’ve been to.”

Be ready to keep an eye out for that pesky Xenomorph when Alien: Isolation hatches on Oct. 7 on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Hopefully, we receive some more news as to the upcoming Oculus Rift version of Isolation.
