You’d think being in a major rock band, especially one with Steven Tyler, means that you would never need a jolt of caffeine, but Joey Kramer believes otherwise. The Aerosmith drummer has launched Rockin’ & Roastin,’ which sounds like it could be a ‘Draw the Line’ outtake but is really Kramer’s new brand of coffee.

But this is no ordinary cup o’ joe in which to dunk your donuts. The organic, fair trade coffee is custom-roasted to Kramer’s specifications. “[T]here are at least 15 junctures in the process which are major,” their website states. “That’s why our roast classifications are a bit more involved than the typical Medium or Dark…Rockin’ & Roastin’s roast categorizations were developed through the experience of roasting and learning more about the chemistry of those various junctures.”

As of now, four roasts are available: Ethiopia Yirgachaffe (Dark), Ethiopia Yirgachaffe Decaf (Medium-Dark), Guatemala Huehuetenango (Dark-Medium) and Sumatra Permata Gayo (Dark). Prices range from $12.95 to $13.95 per brick and can be purchased online.

So if Steven seems a little sluggish on Aerosmith’s tour with Cheap Trick this summer, we’ll know that Kramer secretly replaced his usual coffee with some Ethiopia Yirgachaffe Decaf.
