Keanu Reeves continues his martial arts movie journey in the new '47 Ronin' trailer. After starring in and directing 'Man of Tai Chi,' he's ready for a more "epic" journey, filled with fantastical (and heavily CGI-ed) monsters, a heart-pumping soundtrack and an army of samurai ... 47 to be exact.

Yahoo Movies debuted the theatrical trailer for '47 Ronin,' which might be more exciting than the movie itself, and once again Neo Reeves is the world's only hope for salvation:

After a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honor to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Reeves) -- a half-breed they once rejected -- as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors.

As this exiled, enslaved outcast becomes their most deadly weapon, he will transform into the hero who inspires this band of outnumbered rebels to seize eternity.

First impressions: this looks like someone knocked off the tatted-up warrior from 'Elektra,' the Silver Samurai from 'The Wolverine' and the dragon from 'Spirited Away,' and threw them together in a story wrapped around Keanu Reeves. Hiroyuki Sanada (the arrow slinger in 'The Wolverine'), Tadanobu Asano (Hogun of the Warriors Three in 'Thor: The Dark World') and Rinko Kikuchi (the kick-ass 'Pacific Rim' pilot) also star in the film, but this is very much one for the Reeves books.

We'll see if this is a recipe for success when the film opens on Christmas day.
