‘Sweathogs’ To Be Honored
John Travolta and his fellow former “Welcome Back, Kotter” cast members are to be honored at the 2011 TV Land Awards in New York. Travolta will reunite with

Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Ron Palillo and Marcia Strassman at the April 10th taping at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center during which they will be presented with the 35th Anniversary Award. The presentation airs April 17th. “Welcome Back, Kotter” ran for five seasons and revolved around a Brooklyn high school teacher, Mr. Kotter, played by Gabe Kaplan, who returns to his alma mater to teach a new generation of underachieving misfits nicknamed the “Sweathogs.” Strassman played Kotter’s wife, Julie, while Travolta, Hilton-Jacobs and Ron Palillo played his students.
